Peace pipe ceremony with the Nez Perce. They were honoring their ancestors of yesterday and the families of today. It was a wonderful honor to sit in on such a sacred ceremony. The passing of the peace pipe was very traditional and explained to us very well by an elder named "uncle" through stories of his heritage.
