The "end of the road", literally. Cars are not allowed to drive up the canyon, so the park supplies busses, that run every 10 minutes or so, to drive the tourist up the canyon center. There are bus stops all along the way to get on and off at specific spots, such as trail heads and picnick areas. This is the end of the bus route and it looks like a giant cathedral. There's a trail at this stop that goes another mile and a half into the canyon. It is so pretty down this trail. I can understand why this area was worshiped and considered a place of safety and peace. Posted by Picasa

Thanks! I still have a few more locations to post from the Oct trip across country. As time prevails, they will all be posted. Just got word last week that I'll be back in Yellowstone about mid May. Can't wait to go! I'll miss another season of surfing, but the oppertunity is really worth it!
